The Webster County Lady Trojans won their sixth-straight and stayed undefeated against 2nd-Region competition, knocking off host Christian County 60-41.  In the first meeting between the teams since last season’s regional title game, the Lady Colonels found points hard to come by, and while they turned in a strong second half defensive performance, it wouldn’t be enough.

The Lady Colonels drop their fourth in five outings to slip to 15-11 on the year.  The Lady Trojans haven’t lost since January 19 in the 2A state semifinal against eventual champions Christian Academy-Louisville, and now stand at 26-3 overall.

Karlie Keeney scored half of the Lady Trojans’ 14 first-quarter points and they led by 5 going into the second.  Despite 4 points each from Aaliyah Hampton and Trinity McGee, Webster County built a 12-point advantage after Raigan Price converted a 3-point play with 3:44 left in the half.  Keeney scored just before the break and came up with a steal on the inbounds, but her shot at the buzzer rolled off, and Webster led by 19.

The Lady Trojans led by as many as 27 in the third quarter, and doubled-up the Lady Colonels going into the final quarter at 50-25.  Hampton put up 7 points over the final 8 minutes, but the Lady Colonels couldn’t get any closer than 19 the rest of the way.

Keeney led all scorers with 24, joined in double figures for the Lady Trojans by Price and Marissa Austin with 12 each.

Hampton was the only Lady Colonel in double figures with 15.  McGee finished with 9.
