Hancock Homers in Hoptown Loss to Union County

Hopkinsville dropped a pair of softball games Saturday during a play day at Webster County that ran their losing streak to four games.

The Lady Tigers lost to Union County 13-5 as the Bravettes scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to overcome a 5-1 Hopkinsville lead.

Marley Hancock crushed a three-run homer in the first inning to put the Lady Tigers up quickly 3-0. Sebrina Hodge followed with a triple and scored on a Kaitlyn Kaetzel single. Morgan Hodge also had a run-scoring single in the inning.

In Union’s big inning, the Bravettes used seven hits and a walk to score 10 runs, highlighted by Sheridan Oldham’s 3-run homer. Railey Carter also homered for Union.

Sebrina Hodge led Hoptown with three hits.

In their second game, Graves County’s Neely Shoulta limited Hopkinsville to two hits in a 15-0 Lady Eagle win. Sebrina Hodge and Kaitlyn Kaetzel had the Hopkinsville hits.

Hopkinsville (9-15) will play at Crittenden County Monday.
