Fred Tandy’s most memorable moment on the basketball court came in the Eighth District semifinals when he scored five points in five seconds to help Christian County beat crosstown rival Hopkinsville 57-54.

His most important moment came Wednesday when the Colonel guard signed to play basketball at Spalding University in Louisville.

The All-District performer averaged 11.7 points while shooting 53-percent from the field during his senior campaign.  As a junior, Tandy scored eight points a game as the Colonels advanced to the region championship game.

Spalding is an NCAA Division III school that competes in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  Tandy said he plans to study forensic science in college with the ultimate goal of becoming an FBI agent.
