Caldwell County sophomore Tate VanHooser hit a pair of home runs – his eighth and ninth of the season – in the Tigers’ 8-0 victory over Hopkins County Central on Monday in the 7th District tournament semifinals in Mortons Gap.
VanHooser finished the game 3-for-3 with four RBIs as Caldwell advanced to the district championship game Tuesday against Madisonville-North Hopkins.
The Tigers have won the last seven 7th District titles.
