Strong First Half Carries Madisonville Past Lady Wildcats

The Madisonville Lady Maroons advanced to the Girls 2nd Region semifinals with their 13th win in a row Tuesday evening. The Lady Maroons used a strong 1st half performance to get past the Trigg County Lady Wildcats 6-0 at the Stadium of Champions.

Kensley Zieba got things rolling for Madisonville, scoring from right out in front of the goal at the 07:00 mark to make it 1-0.

Camryn LaGrange extended the lead to 2-0 with her 96th career goal at the 10:00 mark. The goal was her 53rd of the 2019 season.

Kylee Coyle scored off a rebound at the 14:30 to move the lead out to 3-0. Just over five minutes later, the lead grew to 4-0 when Kensley Zieba picked up a deflected pass and found the net.

The Madisonville offensive attack continued at the 33:00 when Emma Peyton scored off an assist from Camryn LaGrange to make it 5-0. LaGrange would then score her second goal of the night, and her 97th in her career at 37:00, when she took a rebound in front of the net and put it in the goal.

Things played out scoreless in the second half, as the Lady Wildcats struggled to get in an offensive flow. On the other side, Madisonville pulled most of their starters at the break and got a number of younger players significant playing time in the 2nd half.

Madisonville improves to 19-1-1 with the win.

Trigg County concludes their season with a record of 8-12-0.
