Trigg County Fishing Team Keeping Busy During the Fall

The Trigg County High School fishing team has been busy during the fall months as they gain experience and learn a few things ahead of the KHSAA spring season.

Trigg County had two teams compete at the Marshall County Kentucky Lake Showdown last weekend on Kentucky Lake that launched from Kentucky Dam Marina. Emily Huntsman and Jordan Hampton, who finished 22nd last year at the KHSAA State Tournament, caught one bass weighing 2-pounds, 6-ounces to finish 18th.

Andrew Greene and Anthony Ethridge also caught one bass which weighed in at 1-pound, 10-ounces to finish 30th.

Camden Baker and Zach Mann of McCracken County won the event with four fish weighing 12-pounds, 1-ounce helping the Mustangs also win the team title. Trigg County finished seventh as a team.

Trigg County also had a team tournament Saturday with Hunter Shelton catching a 4.16 pounds to claim first place. Carson Woodall took second with a bass weighing 3.95 pounds.

Trigg County will have another team tournament this weekend on Lake Beshear.
