PREVIEW – Livingston Central Set for Rebuild

After graduating over 13 seniors after the past two seasons, Livingston Central finds themselves in a massive rebuild for 2019-20.

The Cardinals went from three wins in 2015 to 32 wins the past two seasons.  Chris Green led Livingston to a 15-14 in his first season at the helm last year, but the Cardinals were bounced from the district semifinals for the sixth time in the past seven years.

Green will turn to a bunch short on game experience and size but long on shooting and quickness.

Junior Max Downey is the leading returning scorer for the Cardinals.  He averaged just under seven points a game and was the third-leading three-point shooter on the team at 25-percent.

Junior Carson Kitchens and senior Isaac Wring will be expected to take on larger roles with the team this year.

With four more seniors on this year’s roster, Green will turn to his younger players to build depth and lay the groundwork for the future in a district that has a bevy of talented underclassmen.

Livingston Central opens their season Monday at Graves County before playing their next six games at home.  After Christmas, the Cardinals will play in the Murray Bank Tipoff Classic.
