Lady Colonels Too Much for Fairdale at FNB Holiday Bash

After struggling offensively over the past couple of weeks, the Christian County Lady Colonels put up points often and early Saturday afternoon. The Lady Colonels used their defense to lead to offensive efficiency as they rolled past Fairdale 67-22 in the FNB Holiday Bash at South Warren.

Christian County hit the Lady Bulldogs with a 24 point first quarter, as the Lady Colonels took a 24-7 lead. In the second quarter, Christian County limited Fairdale to just four points. At the other end of the court, the Lady Colonel offense was rolling, ringing up 28 points to take a 52-11 lead at the break.

With the margin at 41 points, the second half was played with a running clock. Christian County would lead 62-16 after three quarters. Reserves saw extensive action in the final quarter as they Lady Colonels picked up the big 45 point win.

Christian County was led by Eniya McGee with 14 points. Amari Brown and Destinee Catlett-Watkins were the other Lady Colonels in double figures with 12 points each. Reni Shemwell added nine points.

Fairdale’s leading scorer was Cheyenne Battle with seven points.

With the win, Christian County goes to 3-7 on the year.
