
Trigg County’s 1969-70 state basketball final four team was recognized Monday at Wildcat Gym. That team won the 5th District title and later defeated Hopkinsville for the school’s first-ever region championship. Trigg won two games at the state tournament at Freedom Hall before losing to Richmond Madison in the semifinals.
Those in attendance Monday were Dwight Martin, George Barnes, Simon Ladd, James Hopson, and William Wharton along with coaches Jim Wallace and Buddy Sivills. Other team members were Billy Alexander, Norris Radford, David Fitzwater, Robert Baker, Lennus Redd, Eddie Radford, and Bruce Higbee. Managers were Carl Fort and Howard Roberts. Statisticians were Hugh Roberts and Kent Ivins.
