Bingham’s Two Hits Help Lead Prospects 16U to Saturday Win

The Kentucky Prospects 16U team kept rolling with their red hot start to the summer season Saturday. The Prospects scored 7 runs over the first two innings as they cruised to an 11-3 win over Yankee Exit Velo.

Lyon County’s Gunnar Bingham had another big game for the Prospects. Bingham finished 2-4 with a double and two runs scored. His Lyons’ teammate Brody Williams ended the game 1-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Caldwell County’s Logan Smiley was 2-3 with a double and a run scored. Lyon County’s Jackson Shoulders was 0-1, but picked up two walks and scored a run. Hopkinsville’s Jacob Dilday was 0-1 with an RBI.

On the mound, Lyon County’s Luke Gilbert got the start. Gilbert went 3 and 2/3, giving up three runs on four hits, striking out one, while walking two.
