Two players who graduated from Second Region schools are playing in the Kentucky Prep Softball Sectional All-Star Games this week.
Grace Scott of Webster County and Sophie Margelot of Henderson County represent the region on the West sectional team, made up of players who play on schools in the first four regions.
Scott, who is headed to Kentucky Wesleyan, was 10-5 in the circle for Webster County in 2019 as a junior. She had 82 strikeouts in 89 innings with a 2.51 ERA. At the plate, she hit .387 with three home runs and 30 RBIs. She was an All-Region selection in 2019 and named to the preseason All-Region Team in 2020.
Margelot, who has signed with Northern Kentucky, hit .284 as a junior with a home run and 14 RBIs for the Lady Colonels. Margelot was an All-Region selection in 2018 and named to the 2020 preseason All-Region Team.
Kelly Reynolds of South Warren and McCracken County’s Tony Hayden, who formerly coached at Christian County, are the coaches of the team.
Each team will play two games at the Woodford County Park Tuesday.
