Macey Brown, the 2019 Girls’ Region 2 runner-up, got an early preview of the 2020 course with a 6-shot win Thursday at the GO Junior Golf Series Southern Championship.
Brown, who plays at Apollo, shot a 79 at the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club that will play host to the region tournament in September.
Bowling Green’s Kate Spires finished six shots back in second place, and Madisonville’s Katherine Weir finished in third place with an 87. Weir’s finish garnered her enough points to win the tour championship in the age group with Henderson County’s Dylan Elliott finishing second.
