The future of fall sports in one border state remains up in the air as officials have tabled an important meeting that was scheduled for this week. The Illinois High School Association announced Tuesday that it would postpone its board meeting, which had been scheduled for Wednesday.
In a statement, the IHSA said it will be in discussions with the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois State Board of Education Friday, thus the decision was made to delay the board meeting until July 29th.
Officials say they expect the meeting on Friday to provide important guidance on how the IHSA will proceed with fall sports.
