
A big rally in their final game of the weekend capped off a perfect weekend for Velo 13U as they won the title at the Tennessee Game 7 Summer Slam AAA Championship. Velo 13U opened their weekend Saturday morning picking up a 10-2 win over Redbirds Baseball Club 13U. Jace Blue, Carter Sholar, and Aiden Lewis, all went 2-3 in the game. Blue had an RBI and a run scored. Sholar had two triples, an RBI, and two runs scored. Lewis had a triple and two runs scored.
Aiden Lewis got the start on the mound, going three innings, giving up no runs on no hits, striking out one and walking one.
Their second game Saturday saw Velo 13U come up with a 3-0 win over Warrior Youth Baseball. Austin Spears was 1-3, with a double and two RBIs. Cole Glover, Bobby Irving, Gavin Powell, and Aiden Lewis, all had hits for Velo 13U.
Austin Spears, Parker Pendley, and Carter Sholar combined to pitch a one-hit shutout for the win.
In their first game Sunday afternoon, Velo 13U rallied from an early five run deficit to pick up a 10-5 win over Old Hickory Generals 13U. Turner Hurst was 3-3 in the game, with two RBIs. Carter Sholar finished 2-2, with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Austin Spears was 2-3, with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored. Gavin Powell ended up 2-3, with a double, and RBI, and two runs scored.
Parker Pendley went 4 2/3-innings in relief, giving up no runs on two hits, striking out three, while walking four.
The team closed out a perfect weekend with a game that saw them rally from deficits of 6-0 and 8-3 to come all the way back and pick up a 12-10 win over Diamond Dawgs 13U. Carter Sholar finished 2-4, with a double and 4 RBIs. Parker Pendley was 2-3, with a double and 3 RBIs. Jace Blue ended up 3-4, with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored. Devin Schutt was 3-3, with an RBI and a run scored.
The Velo 13U team improved to 14-2 on the summer.
