When Cullan Brown signed to play golf at the University of Kentucky in 2017, he wanted to have his picture made with the media that had covered him in high school.
Within hours of news spreading of the passing of Cullan Brown from cancer, tributes to the Lyon County state champion golfer began pouring in on Twitter.
We are simply heartbroken.
Cullan Brown will always be a special part of our family.#B4B 💙💙💙

Who asks the media to be in their picture when they sign to play college golf? Cullan Brown turned the tables on all of us and had us join him at his signing table for a picture on the day he signed with UK. RIP, Cullan. https://t.co/RSrPic2zCB

Words can’t describe the amount of pain I’m in to hear this news. Cullan was one of the best kids I have ever met. It was a honor to play my first year at the State Tournament with him. He helped me learn many things about the game of golf. We lost a good one today. Rest easy. pic.twitter.com/ZAU2HwltZp

Will never understand why good people are taken from this earth, especially at such a young age. But I’m truly grateful that I got to know Cullan Brown. Big heart. Seized every day. RIP young fella.

I know, without the shadow of a doubt, that Cullan is up at the gates with St. Peter, right now, making a tee time for whenever he might be able to get one, because he didn’t want to impose on anyone else waiting to get on.
RIP, Cullan.
Well done, good and faithful servant.

He will forever be “The Governor” to me. From the first time we stuck a mic in his face, to the several times he co-hosted my radio show, it was obvious Cullan Brown was one-in-a-billion. I know I’m just one of countless people who are broken-hearted tonight. #PrayForCullan 🙏🏻❤️ pic.twitter.com/EK96v9tWRW

Am so sorry to hear about the passing of UK golfer Cullan Brown. Wrote about him before last year’s Barbasol Championship. What a terrible loss, way too young. RIP, Cullan. https://t.co/0xsEeXQC36

One of those moments where you want to scream life isn’t fair.
It was impossible to meet Cullen & not fall in love. His personality, his humor, his warmness, his golf game…
I’ve meet a lot of great people with the AJGA & Cullen is one at the top. He’ll be immensely missed. https://t.co/LbG2fjsG0Q

The world will miss this laugh and goofy character. Cullan was able to bring a smile to everyone’s face from the moment they met. Such a great teammate, golfer, hunter, chef, family man and much more. RIP to one hell of a guy💙 #B4B pic.twitter.com/EoYdB8wx6T

Everybody who knew him says Cullan Brown was as good as they come. Hard not to believe that; I only spoke with him twice, and he couldn’t have been more generous to a random reporter following some of the biggest moments of his career. RIP, young man.https://t.co/VkmMKTeEgT

It was an honor to play for Cullan last fall at the All State Championship. He was a great young man that will truly be missed #B4B https://t.co/GjHmMmSydN

Didn’t really think the year could get much worse. This was paralyzing to read. Such a tragic, untimely, devestating loss. Not just for the sporting world or west Kentucky, but for the world. My heart is with the Browns. https://t.co/b5SBe4cfXi

Heartbroken to hear about Cullan Brown‘s passing. He’s the most mature, Christ-like, student-athlete, or adult for the matter, most of my media friends have ever covered or met. His personality was as strong as his golf game. No doubt he’s in Heaven right now.Praying 4 the Browns https://t.co/RKr4K8w7iF

I don’t even know what to say right now. This shouldn’t happen to a guy like him. I am very grateful to have been around Cullan for as long as I was throughout high school. He was easily the nicest guy I have ever met. I strive to be the man that you were. Watch over us. 💔 https://t.co/LpMK6NaTMu

So sadden by this news. Cullen was such a great young man who would have been a terrific role model for decades if it wasn’t for the terrible disease of cancer. Our prayers are with Cullen’s family and loved ones and UK golfing community. https://t.co/Zj3JjrVYzO

One of the kindest, most whole-hearted people I have ever met. As well as one of the best players to ever swing a club. Cullan made the world a brighter place. Please keep this sweet family in your prayers. https://t.co/L9RjHZhwEF

Absolutely heartbreaking news: Kentucky golfer Cullan Brown, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma just weeks after making the cut at the PGA Tour’s Barbasol Championship last July, has died. He would’ve been entering his junior year. Cancer freaking sucks. pic.twitter.com/TAZNeyv7NS

The golfing world lost a treasured friend this week with the passing of Cullan Brown to cancer. Cullan put a smile on the face of everyone he met and he will be poorly missed by so many. Here’s some Cullan magic from back in 2017. Rest in Peace Cullan. https://t.co/kUQEpdJ3gi

This just doesn’t seem real. Cullan is a man that we should look at as a role model for us. The way he treated and took everyone in as if he had known you for years. Heaven gained a good one. Cullan will always be a legend on and off the golf course. Rest easy Brother❤️ https://t.co/raAeBNk5uQ

SEC Golf has a broken heart tonight. Cullan Brown of Kentucky lost his battle with cancer today.
We recruited Cullan and faced off with him in the SEC Semi-Finals in 2019. With an ACT score higher than his 9-Hole average, he was the epitome of a student-athlete. pic.twitter.com/3EJ0MtapKb
