Another conference has elected to move its fall sports to spring of 2021, with the exception this time of football. Conference USA announced Friday afternoon that all fall team sports and the Conference USA championships in those sports, except football, would delay until spring.
In a statement, the Conference USA Board of Directors noted their move comes after the NCAA Division I Board of Directors made the decision to move the Division I fall championships to spring. The decision affects men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball.
Conference officials go on to say that the move to spring allows C-USA schools to compete not just for the conference championship, but for a spot in the NCAA championships as well.
