With over 1,500 college basketball players putting their name in the transfer portal a lot of rosters are going to look a lot different next year. Some players have made their college choices while a lot have not. But who are the most notable commitments so far from the transfer portal?

Krysten Peek, a Yahoo Sports basketball writer, recently ranked her top 10 commits — and Kentucky has two of the top six with Kellan Grady of Davidson and Oscar Tshiebwe of West Virginia. While Tshiebwe may have more of a national name, Peek has Grady ranked as the No. 2 biggest transfer commit with Tshiebwe sixth.

Peek rated 7-1 Walker Kessler as the top transfer. He averaged only 4.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game as a freshman at North Carolina and is now headed to Auburn.

Here is what Peek wrote about Grady, who averaged 17.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game last season:

“Kentucky had the No. 1 recruiting class coming in last year and lost almost every single player to the NBA draft or transfer portal. What Kentucky needs is an older, experienced player who is a great playmaker and coach Cal landed exactly that in Davidson transfer Grady. The 6-foot-5 guard has been one of the most consistent players in college basketball the last four years, averaging between 17-18 points per game every season since his freshman year. He also has outside range, knocking down 61 3-pointers last season (more than any Kentucky player).”

What about Tshiebwe? Here’s what she wrote about him after he averaged 8.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game before transferring at midseason:

“Tshiebwe is a former McDonald’s All American and was one of the best rebounders in college basketball the last two seasons. The 6-foot-9 forward only played 10 games at West Virginia this year before electing to transfer. Tshiewbe will add much-needed size inside for Kentucky after it only averaged 38 rebounds per game last season.”

Two more of her top 10 transfers are also headed to the SEC. Garrison Brooks was the ACC Preseason Player of the Year at North Carolina last season but will play his extra year at Mississippi State where his father is an assistant coach. Marcus Williams averaged 14.9 points and 4.1 assists per game at Wyoming last year while shooting 55 percent from the field. He’s now headed to Texas A&M.

That gives the SEC five of Peek’s top 10 transfers
