Lady Wildcats Take Inaugural Meeting with Community Christian

Trigg County scored 11 runs on 11 hits to score an 11-1 win over Community Christian Tuesday in the first softball meeting between the schools.

The Lady Wildcats used a pair of four-run innings in the third and fourth innings to back the pitching of Kara Hyde.  The sophomore had her best outing of the year in the circle, allowing one earned run and seven hits while striking out four.  She didn’t walk a batter.

Lillie Cortner had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Lady Wildcat offense. She had two of Trigg County’s five doubles in the contest. Audrey Alexander also drove in three runs with a pair of hits.

Rylee Hendricks and Ashlyn Brown contributed a pair of hits with Hendricks tallying a pair of RBIs.

Myra Peeler had three hits for Community Christian [2-15], and Abigail Wring added two.

Trigg County improved to 8-14 and will host Mayfield Thursday in the final home game of the regular season. Trigg will play at Caldwell County Friday.
