The road involving teams from the 1st Region has become a tough one to travel as of late for the Christian County Lady Colonels. The Lady Colonels dropped their fourth game to a 1st Region opponent over the past week as they fell 9-2 to McCracken County Monday night.
Karlee Crick gave the Lady Colonels the early lead with a two-run blast in the top of the first inning, but those would be the last runs of the night for Christian County. McCracken County senior Abigayle Duren gave up only three hits over the rest of the game in shutting down the Christian County offense.
The Lady Mustangs took the lead in the bottom of the first as they plated five runs. McCracken started the rally with four straight singles.
McCracken County added another run in the second and then sealed the win with three runs in the fourth.
Pickle Winkler was 2-4 for Christian County with a double and a run scored. Karlee Crick finished 1-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Avery Adcock and Gracie Harned had the other hits for the Lady Colonels.
Christian County falls to 19-13 with the loss, which was their third straight. The Lady Colonels venture back into the 1st Region Tuesday when they take on Graves County.
