Rebels Impressive in Win Over Fort Campbell (w/PHOTOS)

After starting the soccer season at 0-7-2, the Todd County Central Rebels picked up their second consecutive win Thursday night. The Rebels had the pressure cranked up against the Fort Campbell Falcons from the moment the match got underway, and they never let up on the way to an impressive 7-0 win in Elkton.

The Rebels’ attack had the Falcons on their heels virtually all night long. Todd Central would end up outshooting Fort Campbell 34-9.

Todd Central scored four goals in a 15 minute span of the first half to take a 4-0 lead into the break.

Grady Reding got things started with a goal at 13:00. Chris Salazar scored the first of his two goals three minutes later to make it 2-0. After a foul in the box, John Craig scored the penalty kick to extend the lead to 3-0 at 24:00. Jose Villanueva drilled a left-footed shot at 27:40 to finish the first-half scoring.

The Rebels picked right back up where they left off when the second half got underway. Just 2 ½-minutes into the second half, Chris Salazar found the net again to move the lead out to 5-0. Zack Robinson would finish out the scoring with a pair of goals. He scored off an assist from Tanner Henderson at 62:00 and then drove down the left side and scored to reach the final seven-goal margin.

The loss dropped the Falcons to 1-4 on the season. They get ready to host Fort Knox on Saturday.

Todd County Central improves to 2-7-2. The Rebels are back in action Tuesday when they go on the road to take on University Heights.
