Lyon County scored a goal in the final minute to force a 4-4 tie with Hopkinsville Friday at Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville.

Hopkinsville appeared minutes away from a sixth straight win over Lyon County dating back to 2007 — Lyon’s last win over the Lady Tigers.

Lyon led 2-0 and 3-1 before Hoptown scored three unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead. Lyon’s late goal preserves an unbeaten streak that is now at 10 games.  The Lady Lyons are 11-1-2.

Anna White and Rose Smith each had a pair of goals for Lyon County. Leah Schroeder had two assists, and Smith and Samantha Hooper each had one.

Hopkinsville stands at 5-4-1. The Lady Tigers got a hat trick from Anna Hernandez and a goal from Grasen Givens.  Abby Moss, Taryn Underwood, and Givens each had an assist.

Hoptown will host UHA Saturday afternoon, while Lyon County will travel to Crittenden County Tuesday.
