In their first meeting since 2016, the Todd County Central Lady Rebels very nearly beat the University Heights Academy Blazers for the first time. A late goal from Addi Fourqurean saved the day for UHA as the Lady Blazers pulled out a 1-1 tie in the waning moments of the contest.

In a first half where shots on goal were at a premium for both teams, Todd County Central got on the board first at the 19:00 mark when Jeidy Saguilan found the net through a bunch of traffic in front of the goal to give the Lady Rebels a 1-0 lead.

For the rest of the half, the two teams played extensively in the middle of the field as neither could find many scoring opportunities. For the half, UHA outshot the Lady Rebels 4-2.

As the second half rolled on, the Lady Blazers began to pick up the pressure. However, the Todd County Central defense led by the play of goalie Sam Case and defender Itzel Salazar managed to turn UHA away time after time. The increased pressure began to have its effect, as the Lady Blazers were getting shot opportunities and the Lady Rebels were not. In fact, for the second half, UHA would outshoot Todd County Central 8-0.

The Lady Blazers would get several great looks at the net, but Sam Case made several big stops for the Lady Rebels.

UHA finally broke through with Addi Fourqurean’s goal at the 76:20 mark, evening things up at 1-1. From there neither team could find a way to break the tie over the final three minutes of the match.

Todd Central’s record moves to 1-8-2 on the year, while UHA goes to 5-4-1.
