The Lady Warriors came out rolling and never looked back on their way to a straight-set win over the Lady Wildcats Thursday night. The win was the second for HCA over Trigg County this season.
With Mya Goodwin at the serve, HCA opened the first set by scoring the first eight points. After a Trigg County point, Heritage scored another eight straight to go up 16-1. The Lady Warriors would go on to take the opening set 25-3.
Trigg County opened the second set scoring on pair of aces from Megan Hicks to take a 2-0 lead. HCA then ripped off seven straight to go up 7-2. With the lead at 7-4, Heritage Christian put the match away with an 8-0 run to go up 15-4. The Lady Warriors would go on to win the second set 25-8. Elle Heltsley had three kills and three aces in the set.
The third set opened much like the first. With Mya Goodwin again at the serve, HCA scored the first five points of the set. Four of those points came on service aces by Godwin.
Trigg County would battle back and get within three at 10-7. An eleven-point run led by the play of Lexi Crisp, Mya Goodwin, and Elle Heltsley would blow the lead out to 21-7. HCA would close out the match by winning the set 25-8.
