Lady Tigers Begin Region Title Defense at Crittenden

Caldwell County and Crittenden County meet Tuesday night in Marion in the first round of the 2nd Region volleyball tournament.

Game time is 6:00 at Rocket Gym.

Caldwell, the defending 2nd Region champion, is 19-18 this season and enters the regional as 7th District runner-up after bowing to Madisonville-North Hopkins in four sets last week in Madisonville.

Crittenden is the 5th District champion and is 15-10 this season.

The Lady Tigers and Lady Rockets have met twice this year, with Caldwell winning both of those.

The Lady Tigers hold a 31-2 lead in the all-time series.

Caldwell has won the last 25 meetings. Both of Crittenden’s wins came in the 2006 season.

The Caldwell-Crittenden winner will play in the late semifinal game on Wednesday against either University Heights Academy or Webster County. Those two teams play Tuesday night in Hopkinsville.

The 2nd Region tourney got under way on Monday, with Henderson County and Madisonville-North Hopkins advancing to Wednesday’s first semifinal at 5:30 in Marion.

Caldwell fans making the trip to Crittenden will need to go online to purchase tickets.  Tickets will not be available at the gate tonight. You will have to purchase tickets online beforehand.
