
Hopkinsville High School grad Kourtney Ware poured in 26 points for Kentucky Christian, but the Knights fell in their basketball season opener at Georgetown College on Thursday.
Down 50-40 at halftime, Kentucky Christian saw No. 15-ranked Georgetown pull away in the second half for a 103-68 triumph.
Ware, a junior, was 9-of-19 from the field and went 6-for-7 at the free throw line. He also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out two assists and had a steal.
Meanwhile, former Caldwell County standout Derrin Boyd led Georgetown with 19 points.
Ware and the Knights will next go to Reinhardt University on Nov. 6 to begin Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
