UHA Closes Out Cross Country Season at State Meet

University Heights Academy closed out its 2021 cross country season with a 29th place finish at the Class 1A State Cross Country Meet Saturday in Paris.

Running in his first state cross country meet, freshman Cole Glover led the Blazers with a 50th place finish with a time of 19:11 over the 3.1-mile course.

Chase Hendricks capped his cross country career with a 132nd place finish. The senior ran a time of 20:59.  Fellow senior Ray Famer finished in 147th place with a time of 21:18.

Jude Finch finished in 240th place, and Eli Finch was 248th for the Blazers.

As a team, UHA finished in 29th place with 701 points.

For the second straight year, the state meet was run at the Bourbon County Park after decades at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. Runners had to traverse wet and muddy conditions that were the result of rain that fell all day Friday and early Saturday.

Ray Farmer’s final cross country race of his UHA career saw him finish in 147th place at the state meet Saturday.
