Jessah Hayden feels her best golf is still ahead of her. So do her current high school coach and future college coaches.

The Christian County High School senior took the first step to proving them right by signing a scholarship agreement to play golf at the University of Tennessee Southern Thursday before a big crowd of family and friends in Crofton.

Hayden played the first two years of her high school career at University Heights Academy where she twice played in the All A Classic State Tournament.

She transferred to Christian County before her junior season. In 2021, she claimed two top-10 finishes and tied for fourth place at the Christian County Invitational.

Hayden has already begun to hone her game with a swing coach in Nashville and said she can already see an improvement in her game.

UT Southern was formerly known as Martin Methodist until it joined the University of Tennessee system earlier this year. The NAIA school is located in Pulaski, Tennessee and competes in the Mid-South Conference.
