Heritage Christian Academy couldn’t keep a big lead and overcome a large free throw disparity in dropping a 60-58 road game at Christian Community Thursday in White House, Tennessee.
HCA led 14-5 after one quarter and led 28-23 at halftime before the Colts used a late run to take its first lead of the second half late in the third quarter.
Logan Johnson knocked down five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points for Christian Community. Heritage hit just 4 of 13 shots behind the arc.
The Colts hit 16 of 28 free throws in the game, including 9 of 12 in the fourth quarter. HCA was 5 of 11 at the charity stripe. The Warriors were also bothered by 16 turnovers in the contest.
Carlos Robles led HCA with 16 points, while Weston Powell had 12 points and nine rebounds.
Heritage Christian Academy will dip its feet into KHSAA waters on Nov. 29 when they play at Madisonville-North Hopkins.
