John Calipari always hopes his players are listening when he offers coaching advice. However, when it comes to medical advice, he’s not sure they listen quite as well. Davion Mintz missed his second game this week Friday night due to the flu when Kentucky beat North Florida and this game Keion Brooks was also out with the same ailment.
After the game, Calipari revealed that his son Brad, a graduate assistant coach, was also sick and three managers had been sick.
“I wish I could make them take flu shots, but I can’t. I had mine the other day. Normally, I won’t, and it’s not because I don’t trust, I just don’t like getting shots. I know I need to get it, but I hate to scream in front of girls who are watching me get a shot,” Calipari said.
Kentucky will host Central Michigan Monday night and Calipari is worried about what might happen team-wise before then.
“The stuff will go through your team. It will,” Calipari said. “I have got to talk to our team. How long they (Mintz and Brooks) will be out, I don’t know.
