Let’s just start calling him the “Baron of Block.” When Jamarion Sharp walks across campus in Bowling Green, he is sure to draw attention, as would anyone who stands 7-5. When he steps on the basketball court for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, the former Hopkinsville Tiger is starting to draw plenty of attention, not just in Bowling Green, but across the country.
Sharp, who is currently the tallest player in big time college basketball, stands at, or near, the top of a handful of categories just seven games into his junior season.
As of Wednesday afternoon, according to WKU Stats and Info, Sharp is tied for 1st in the country in blocked shots with 33. He is first in the country in blocks percentage at 20.7-percent. He also comes in 2nd in the nation in blocks per game at 4.7.
Sharp is also averaging 5.1 points and 7.0 rebounds while playing an average of 21.9 minutes per game.
