15.4 per game but also one of the best in the nation. Well, maybe everyone knows that except Kentucky freshman guard TyTy Washington. In fairness, Washington is UK’s second-leading rebounder at 4.9 per game — a fact most UK fans probably do not know.
However, claims he’s a better rebounder than Tshiebwe and Dennis Rodman, a former NBA star with a lot of quirks who could dominate a game with his rebounding. He led the NBA in rebounding seven straight years and won five NBA championships during his playing career from 1986-2000.
Washington obviously takes rebounding seriously because he was wearing a Rodman jersey in the press conference after UK’s win over Southern Tuesday night.
“It goes me, Oscar, and then him (Rodman). My rebounding would be up there but Oscar be trying to fight me. Dennis Rodman had nobody fighting him. They knew that was his role. But Oscar be trying to fight me and Keion (Brooks),” Washington said.
Rodman did play with Michael Jordan on the Chicago Bulls but Washington said Rodman was still the clear No. 1 rebounder.
‘He tried but it is like Oscar trying to fight me. I am going to grab it. At the end of the day, I am just too big for Oscar. If the ball goes up and I jump, I jump higher than Oscar so I am going to grab it every time,” Washington said.
Well, he may grab some away from Oscar, but not many. Still, it’s good to see a freshman able to enjoy himself and if he can continue to average about five rebounds per game he may not challenge Tshiebwe but he’s going to be a big help for the Cats.

If Washington played as hard as Tshiebwe , Wheeler, or Mintz he would get more board’s for sure, but he for sure don’t put out the effort that they do. If MIntz got the minute’s Ty Ty get’s he would be second on the team in rebound’s, and he play’s much harder on defense then Washington. Surely you can see that coach Cal.
Pick it up Washington your to laid back, you could be much better if the effort was there the whole time. The fight me your talking about from Oscar, is the DOG that we as KY fan’s want to see out of you, even if it is only for one year.
Even mentioning your name in with Oscar and Rodman on rebounding, is the funniest thing I’ve heard to day. But like coach Jimmy V said, we have to laugh every day.

It was a joke ha ha not that serious it’s called a since of humor I don’t think he’s lazy it’s that’s just him he’s smooth he’s not Fox or wall he’s more like a SGA or somebody he’s more of a change pace type guy wheeler is the fast one I think they compliment each other plus ty ty is doing this and he’s 3 ain’t falling yet wait till that happens cause he’s a knock down shooter and his floater is $$$$$
