
Webster County outscored Hopkinsville by 13 points at the free throw line — and beat the Tigers by 14 points Tuesday night in Dixon.
Hoptown (1-2) made just 8 of 20 attempts from the charity stripe in dropping a 72-58 decision.
Webster (4-1), which led 35-27 at halftime and 52-39 through three quarters, was 21 of 34 at the free throw line.
Daisjaun Mercer had 16 points for Hopkinsville while Bubba Leavell added 15. K.C. Cabiness added 13 points for the Tigers.
Webster got 20 points from DeShawn Murphy, 17 each from Bradin Nelson and Aaron Harmon, and 14 from Trevor Baker.
The Trojans have won their last four matchups against Hoptown.
Hopkinsville is on the road again on Friday when it visits Union County.
