
Lyon County’s girls won for the second straight game, picking up an 18-point triumph at Paducah Tilghman Thursday night, 66-48.
The Lady Lyons, now 3-4, built an 18-10 lead after one quarter. They then stretched that advantage to 19 points in the second period before getting to halftime with a 34-19 edge.
The Lady Tornado (4-2) made a second-half run to get as close as 38-31 midway through the third quarter.
But Lyon, which beat Trigg County 68-61 on Tuesday, would let Tilghman get no closer.
The Lady Lyons built their lead back up to 16 points, 49-33, through three quarters.
Lyon’s biggest margin of the night came at 60-37 when Lexi Holland made one of two free throws with 3½ minutes to play.
Rose Smith had a game-high 25 points to lead the Lady Lyons. Ella Defew and Calista Collins each added 13.
Diamond Gray topped all Tilghman scorers with 17 points.
The Lady Lyons have taken three straight from Tilghman and five of the last six matchups
Lyon’s girls are right back in action on Friday when they visit McLean County (2-3) for a 6 p.m. varsity contest.
