Former Caldwell County Tiger Derrin Boyd had a big night Thursday as his Georgetown Tigers picked up their 10th win of the season.
According to a Georgetown press release, “Derrin Boyd was unconscious in the second half, dropping 16 of his game-high 19 points in the final 20 minutes. He was 6-of-7 from the field in that stretch. He also added seven rebounds and five assists, while playing lockdown defense on Lindsey Wilson’s leading scorer. Elijah Jordan came into the game averaging 15.5 points, and did not score until late in the second half to finish with two points.”
The Georgetown Tigers defeated the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders 76-57. The 21st-ranked Tigers are now 10-2 on the season.
Georgetown scored 12 of the first 14 points on Thursday and never looked back against Lindsey Wilson in the Mid-South Conference matchup. The Tigers are 3-2 in conference games this season.
Boyd and Georgetown will hit the road on Saturday for an afternoon contest at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn.
