Lady Wildcats Bounce Back With Convincing Holiday Tourney Win

After three straight losses including one that knocked them into the consolation bracket of the Community Christian Lady Warrior Tournament, Trigg County got the bounce-back win they needed as they handed Fulton City a 69-37 loss Monday afternoon.

The Lady Wildcats broke the game open with a 19-3 run to end the first half.

Trigg County forced 17 first half turnovers that led to 24 points as they built a 43-21 advantage by intermission.

After hitting just 2 of 13 free throws in a five-point loss to Carlisle County in Saturday’s tourney opener, Trigg County responded with a 9 of 13 showing Monday.

Trigg also shot 51-percent from the field and knocked down 6 of 11 behind the arc.

Marleigh Reynolds scored 22 of her 28 points in the first half. She also had six rebounds.

Olivia Noffsinger followed a career-high nine assist game Saturday with 10 more Monday in addition to 16 points on the stat sheet.

Kara Hyde joined them in double figures with 10 points.

Trigg County also got solid production off the bench. Landi Rogers had two points, four rebounds, and four steals.  Evonna McGee added four rebounds and four steals, and Audrey Alexander scored three points and grabbed three boards.

Fulton City got 13 points from Mia Martin, and Brittany Maclin hit four 3-pointers to finish with 12 points.

Trigg County, who improved to 13-0 all-time against Fulton City, will play Joppa, Ill. Monday night in the consolation bracket.
