Lady Wildcats Blitz Way Into CCA Third Place Game

Trigg County used a 23-0 second quarter run to beat Joppa-Maple-Gove, Ill. 60-12 Monday in the consolation round of the CCA Lady Warrior Classic in Paducah.

The Lady Wildcats will play Christian Fellowship Tuesday at 3 pm in the third-place game of the 10-team tournament.

After scoring 28 points in a win over Fulton City earlier in the day, Marleigh Reynolds scored 30 points on 15 of 20 shooting. She also had 13 rebounds in 16 minutes of action.

Olivia Noffsinger scored 12 points and added seven assists as nine Lady Wildcats reached the scoring column.

Trigg County led 14-4 after one quarter and extended its lead to 37-4 at halftime with the 23-0 second quarter run.

The Lady Wildcats shot 55-percent from the field and led by as many as 50 points in the second half. Trigg’s defense forced 34 turnovers that turned into 28 points.

After losing to Carlisle County in the second round, Christian Fellowship [6-2] beat Hickman County 51-50 Monday to advance to the third-place game.
