
Riding a five-game winning streak into Tuesday’s matchup with Green County as part of the Rafferty’s Caveland Classic at Edmonson County, the Todd County Central Rebels built a double-digit 1st-half lead and held off the Dragons for a 57-47 victory.
Todd Central’s Preston Rager got started on his team-high 13 points with six in the 1st quarter and Preston Moore added four to give the Rebels a 16-11 advantage.
The Rebels held the Dragons to single digits in the 2nd quarter, with Amari Andrews scoring six points to help Todd Central to a 30-19 lead at the halftime break.
The Dragons battled back behind 10 3rd-quarter points for Hayden Blakeman, but Jamison Glass scored six and Rager chipped in five to maintain the Rebels’ 11-point edge.
Anthony Johnson came off the bench to score four of the Rebels’ 10 points over the final eight minutes, and Todd Central held on for a 10-point win despite Green County’s Blakeman and Kellen Whitlow combining for 10 points in the 4th.
Todd Central improves to 7-1 overall ahead of a matchup with Monroe County to close out tourney play on Wednesday.
