Kentucky should not have any kind of quarterback controversy/question going into next season. Quarterback Will Levis posted on Twitter Monday that he would be back for the 2022 season. He has led UK to a 9-3 record going into the Citrus Bowl January 1 in Orlando.
His decision was no huge surprise because he said earlier this month he was leaning towards returning to UK but just wanted to gather additional information to make his final decision about staying at UK or trying the NFL.
“Obviously, in my gut feeling, I’m leaning and have been leaning all season toward coming back, but I want to go through that process and not make a rash decision too early,” Levis said.
Now he’s convinced coming back is best for him and most NFL draft projections indicate he’s probably making the best decision.
One reason he picked UK after deciding to leave Penn State was to let UK offensive coordinator Liam Coen help develop him for the NFL. He still had a terrific season throwing for 2,593 yards and 23 touchdowns while running for 387 yards and nine more scores. He had the most passing yards for a UK quarterback since Patrick Towles in 2014 and most touchdown passing since Mike Hardline in 2010.
Kentucky will also return backup quarterback Beau Allen along with freshman Kiaya Sheron.

What great news for next year, for this program, and for the fans.
Good news indeed!
It’s good for the team and for Will. It will give him a chance to develop his passing game and provide experienced leadership for next season.
