
Todd County Central eclipsed its win total from each of the past three seasons and gave John Stigall his 300th heading coaching victory.
The Rebels defeated Monroe County 62-48 on Wednesday to finish the Rafferty’s Caveland Classic at Edmonson County with a 3-0 mark.
It’s the seventh-straight win for the Rebels, who improved to 8-1 this season.
Todd Central finished last season 7-12 after 5-24 and 6-22 campaigns the previous two years. The Rebels’ last winning season was a 19-13 mark in 2017-18.
Meanwhile, Stigall is in his first year in Elkton after spending 17 seasons as head coach at different high schools in Tennessee. His overall record is now 300-189.
Jamison Glass had 13 points and Amari Andrews added 12 in the win over Monroe County.
Todd led 34-29 at halftime, then used a strong third period to go up 47-33 entering the fourth quarter.
Preston Moore and Preston Rager each scored nine points for the Rebels.
For Monroe (1-8), Austen Arnett had 13 points and Jameson Petett added 11.
Next up, Todd Central will host the Zaxby’s Christmas Classic Dec. 27-29.
