
Murray, the top-rated team in the 1st Region, remained unbeaten on the season with a 74-63 win Monday afternoon over Miller Career Academy of St. Louis, Mo., at the West Kentucky Hoops Classic in Princeton.
Murray (9-0) took control in the third quarter, outing the Phoenix 22-11 in that stanza. That turned a 31-22 halftime advantage into a 53-33 margin going to the final 8 minutes.
Trey Boggess and Grant Whitaker each had 21 points to pace the Tigers, who also got 11 points and eight rebounds from Lincoln English. Boggess was selected the Player of the Game for Murray.
Charles Nelton was the Player of the Game for Miller (8-5) after netting 19 points. Eric Calicutt added 16 points and nine rebounds.
Murray will play two games in the Hoops Classic on Tuesday while Miller will play one game on Tuesday.
