Todd County Central’s Jamison Glass very nearly outscored the Montgomery Central Indians by himself Monday night. And, he might have done so if he had played in the fourth quarter. Glass lit up Montgomery Central for 24 points as the Rebels won their eighth straight game by taking down the Indians 50-32 in the Zaxby’s Christmas Classic in Elkton.
Glass scored all eight Todd County points in the opening quarter as the Rebels took an 8-7 lead. Glass would then score the first four Todd Central points in the second quarter as well. In fact, the sophomore would score 16 of the Rebels’ first 18 points in the game.
The Rebels were leading 10-9 early in the second when they grabbed firm control of the game. Todd Central would finish the half outscoring Montgomery Central 15-2 to take a 25-11 lead into the break.
Glass got right back to work in the third quarter as Montgomery Central simply had no way to contain the big man inside. Glass scored 8 of the Rebels’ first 12 points of the second half as Todd Central pushed the lead out to 37-18. The lead would be 40-20 heading into the final eight minutes.
With the big lead, Glass and the rest of the Todd Central starters saw very little court time during the final quarter as the Rebels cruised to the final 18 point margin.
Glass led all scorers in the game with 24 points. Anthony Johnson and Amari Andrews chipped in with six points each.
Marquis Crutcher topped the scoring column for Montgomery Central with 7 points. Ty Rouse added six.
The Rebels improve to 9-1 on the season. They will be back in action Tuesday evening when they take on Green County in their next game of the Zaxby’s Christmas Classic.
