Dixie Heights Powers Past Christian County Lady Colonels

The Christian County Lady Colonels ran into a buzzsaw Tuesday in their opening game of the Vanous Lloyd Christmas Tournament at Warren Central. Dixie Heights jumped out to a big early lead and never looked back as they rolled to a 76-28 win over the Lady Colonels.

Dixie Heights rang up 28 points in the opening quarter as they jumped out to a 28-13 lead. They then put the game away when their defense limited Christian County to just a field goal and one free throw in the second quarter, as the lead grew to 48-16 at the half.

Dixie Heights kept rolling in the third quarter as their defense again limited Christian County to one field goal and one free throw. By the end of the quarter, the lead was out to 63-19.

The running clock was in play for the entire fourth quarter as Dixie Heights idled on out to the final 48 point win.

Anaysia Bagwell was at the top of the scoring column for Christian County with 8 points. Sarah Harris added seven more.

Sammy Berman scored 16 points to lead Dixie Heights. Madelyn Lawson added 14 for the victors.

With the loss, Christian County drops to 3-6 on the season. The Lady Colonels are back in action in the tourney Wednesday afternoon.
