
The Trigg County girls basketball team held 5th-District rivals Livingston Central to single digits in all but one quarter on Tuesday on the way to a 47-28 victory that sent the Lady Wildcats into the title game of the Murray Bank Lady Tiger Classic.
Olivia Noffsinger scored seven of the Lady Wildcats’ nine 1st-quarter points and they led by five points after the first eight minutes.
After only managing four points in the opening frame, Livingston Central outscored Trigg County 12-8 in the 2nd to narrow the Lady Wildcats’ lead to a point at 17-16 at the halftime break.
Trigg County clamped down defensively after the break, allowing only four points and riding a 12-point 3rd quarter by Marleigh Reynolds to a 35-19 advantage.
Reynolds added five more points in the 4th and the Lady Wildcats cruised to a 19-point win to set up a meeting with Muhlenberg County in the championship game later on Tuesday.
