Another member of the Hopkinsville Tiger baseball team has announced his future plans. Senior Jacob Dilday announced via Twitter Monday night that he would be continuing his education and athletic career at Rend Lake College.
After losing his sophomore season to the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring of 2020, Dilday rebounded with a solid junior season in 2021.
Dilday started six games on the mound for the Tigers last season and appeared in two others. He finished the year with a record of 4-2 and an ERA of 3.12. Dilday struck out 40 while walking 24.
At the plate, Dilday hit .329, with two doubles and 18 RBIs.
As a freshman in 2019, Dilday appeared in 14 games, four of them as a starter. He went 3-2 with three saves. He struck out 34 while walking 24.
Dilday and the Tigers will open the 2022 season March 24 when they host Franklin-Simpson.
