
The Christian County Colonels are still looking for their first win of 2022 after a 72-55 loss to McCracken County in Paducah on Monday.
The Mustangs claiim their eighth-straight victory to improve to 12-1 and the C0lonels slip to 4-13 with their eighth loss in as many outings.
Ja’Sean Riley got off to a good start for the Colonels with six points, but Carson Purvis poured in 11 to give the Mustangs a 19-12 advantage after the 1st quarter.
Derrell Bateman scored eight 1st-half points for the Colonels, but Purvis and Brant Brower combined for 15 points to keep McCracken in front 36-27 at the break.
Riley, Bateman, and Breland Morrison each chipped in four points for Christian County in the 3rd quarter, but the Colonels couldn’t make up any ground and trailed by 13 with a quarter to play.
Despite seven points for Christian County’s Jordan Miles, McCracken maintained a double-digit advantage throughout the final eight minutes on the way to a 15-point win.
Bateman’s 15 paced the Colonels, followed by Riley with 13, Miles with 11, and Morrison with 10.
