The Campbellsville Lady Eagles, champions out of the 5th Region, are making their first appearance in the small-school state tournament since 2002.

The Lady Eagles have appeared in the All A Classic a total of three times. Those appearances came in 1998, 2001, and 2002. All three appearances have ended in the same fashion for Campbellsville, with a win in the opening round and then a loss in the quarterfinals.

In 1998, Campbellsville defeated 1st Region champ Fulton County and then lost to Fairview.

During their 2001 appearance, the Lady Eagles picked up an opening-round win over Heath before losing to Somerset in the quarterfinals.

In 2002, Campbellsville avenged their 2001 loss to Somerset with an opening-round win. The Lady Eagles would then fall to Jackson County in the quarterfinals.

The Lady Eagles are led by senior Briante Gowdy. Gowdy comes into the tournament averaging 15 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Senior Rylee Petett is the other double-figures scorer for Campbellsville at 10.3 points per contest. She also averages 5.3 boards a game.

Campbellsville is not a high-powered offense. The Lady Eagles are currently averaging 47.7 points a game. They shoot 32.2 percent from the field and 26.1 percent from behind the 3-point line.

For comparison sake, going into Saturday, the Lady Lyons were averaging 50.5 points a game. Lyon County was shooting 37.9 percent from the field and 26 percent from behind the arc.
