
A late rally fell just short as Christian County suffered a 52-50 setback at Owensboro Catholic Monday night.
Down 29-21 at halftime and 40-34 through three quarters, the Colonels were within 51-50 on two JaSean Riley free throws late in the contest.
The Aces went up 52-50 when Brian Griffith made one of two free throws with 5 seconds left.
A midcourt shot by the Colonels hit off the backboard as the final buzzer sounded.
Christian (4-15) got 18 points from Jordan Miles and 16 from Derrell Bateman in the setback.
The Colonels have now dropped 10 straight.
Owensboro Catholic (11-9) got 15 points from both Griffith and Ji Webb, along with 11 points from Parker Gray.
Next up for the Colonels is a trip to Fort Campbell on Thursday.
