Henderson County just picked the wrong day to have Lyon County on their schedule. Coming off a disappointing two-point loss to Breathitt County Thursday in the opening round of the All A Classic, the Lyons traveled to Henderson and took out their frustrations on the Colonels with an 88-68 win.

The Lyons were running when they got off the bus. Behind 13 first quarter points from Travis Perry, Lyon County bolted out to a 28-12 first quarter lead.

Henderson County turned to the long ball in the second quarter to try and get back in the contest. The Colonels would hit six shots from behind the arc as they cut the lead to 44-38 at the half. Gerard Thomas hit three of the deep shots for the Colonels.

This time there would be no comeback for the Lyon County opponent. Lyon County had five players score at least three points in the third quarter as they used the team approach to push the lead back out to 68-54.

Jackson Shoulders then stepped up and slammed the door in the Colonels face to help secure the win. Shoulders put up 8 points in the final quarter as the Lyons ran the lead on out to the final 20 point margin.

Travis Perry and Jackson Shoulders each scored 24 points to lead the Lyons. Jack Reddick added 13 points, while Brady Shoulders finished with 12.

Gerard Thomas and Dwaine Moss topped the scoring column for Henderson County with 17 points each.

Lyon County improves to 14-5 with the win. The Lyons will host University Heights Monday night in Eddyville.
