
Brody Williams hit .358 for Lyon County’s state semifinal baseball team last season. But the Lyon seniors bats 1.000 in the classroom.
Williams carries a 4.0 grade-point average and is a member of the of Beta Club, Pep Club, FBLA, FFA, FCLA and TSA.
He was chosen the 2021 Heisman High School scholarship school winner for Lyon County.
That honor is in recognition of outstanding achievements in academics, athletics and community service. Eligibility begins with maintaining a weighted GPA of 3.0 (B average) or better. Candidates also need to be proven leaders and role models within their school and community. And applicants must participate or have participated in grades 9, 10 or 11 in at least one sport.


Williams will continue his academic and athletic career at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
A catcher on the Lyon baseball team, Williams blasted 10 home runs and had 38 RBIs last season as the Lyons won a school-record 30 games before bowing to Louisville Trinity in the state semifinals in Lexington.

A strong defensive player behind the plate, Williams was named third-team all-state by the state’s baseball coaches.
At Kent State, he will join a Golden Flashes program that has won at least 30 games each of the last 22 seasons.

Williams is a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church and active in the church youth group.
He has worked in some form at Williams Vet Clinic since it opened in 2009.
Williams presently co-ops at the clinic a half day every school day, working as a vet assistant.
Williams and the Lyon baseball team will begin their 2022 season next month.
