With 22 points in Monday’s 58-50 setback at Madisonville-North Hopkins, Caldwell County senior Jabrion Spikes leapt into the Top 10 on the Tigers’ all-time scoring list.
Spikes went from 11th to No. 8, passing Tron Gray (1,164 points), Mo Hollowell (1,167 points) and Ed Settle (1,169 points) on the Caldwell career list.
Spikes, with 1,180 career points, now takes aim at Eli Pepper at No. 7 with 1,307 points.
At 30 points a night, Spikes is on pace to eclipse Timmy Riley, who is sixth with 1,408 points.
However, Caldwell might need a lengthy postseason run for Spikes to approach No. 5 on the school’s all-time scoring chart. Carrell Boyd holds that mark with 1,819 points.
Spikes will look to add to his point total on Tuesday when his Tigers visit Marshall County.
